String Wax – Bohning Tex-Tite

An all natural based string wax which lubricates and lengthens string life and enhances string performance and helps prevent fraying. Completely odorless, so great for bowhunting too!

Tex-Tite resists penetration by water and keeps moisture out of the bow string and protects critical string fibres. It greatly reduces string friction and abrasion. Penetrates into string fibres without damaging the string.

Always be sure to include areas of the string that are served. This helps to keep the bowstring from moving inside the serving, minimising wear.

Will remain tacky enough to hold strands together and will not become sticky under any weather conditions. Tex-Tite has the right degree of stickiness when warmed by rubbing on the string to hold fibres together, but not sticky when allowed to cool to room temperature and will not freeze or become brittle.

If you ever wondered what the difference is between Bohning Tex-Tite and Seal-Tite: Tex-Tite is a natural based bowstring wax and Seal-Tite is a silicone based wax, but both work great in keeping your bowstring from drying out.

Tex-Tite provides a “tacky” coating that most traditional archers prefer and is similar to the old school pure beeswax whereas Seal-Tite provides a “sticky” coating.

How to wax your string:

Push a little bit of the wax out of the tube and run it over your strung bow string. Afterwards use your fingers, apply a small amount of pressure between them and run up and down on your bowstring. The warmth created by the friction will ensure that the wax melts into your string.

Bonus Tip:

If your arrow screw in points come loose you can apply a little bit of tex-tite to the thread. This will help keeping them in place for longer.

Why have we selected this product?

We have tried many different brands and types of string wax. But we keep coming back to this one because  is super easy to apply, lasts a really long time, packs small, provides that traditional tacky coating and, best of all, is completely odorless.
