TRAD Prime Backquiver Longbow
The account of the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 by Jean de Wavrin, who was present on the French side, describes the crucial force of English longbowmen as having on their heads either cuir bouilli helmets, or wicker with iron strips, or nothing (the last, he says, were also barefoot) (wikipedia)).
Cuir Bouilli is the nearly forgotten art to harden and toughen leather by soaking it in hot oil. The full-grain leather of these back quivers has been prepared in this exact method in remembrance of the longbow warriors of the time.
The quiver is decorated with a a Fleur De Lis which was a common motif of the English and French during the 100 years war – the height of the war-longbow.
The back quiver is half round with an extra stiffened back. An adjustable wide and strong belt is worn over the shoulder. Fur lining at the top reduces rattling of arrows. Brass elements round up the wonderful appearance of this quiver.
Please note that this quiver is suitable for Right Hand archers only!
