TRAD Prime Side Quiver Longbow
The account of the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 by Jean de Wavrin, who was present on the French side, describes the crucial force of English longbowmen as having on their heads either cuir bouilli helmets, or wicker with iron strips, or nothing (the last, he says, were also barefoot) (wikipedia)).
Cuir Bouilli is the nearly forgotten art to harden and toughen leather by soaking it in hot oil. The full-grain leather of this quiver has been prepared in this exact method in remembrance of the longbow warriors of the time.
The quiver is decorated with a Fleur De Lis which was a common motif of the English and French during the 100 years war – the height of the war-longbow.
The side quiver is extra stiff and all pieces are stitched together by a tightly woven leather strap, which was wet when put in place and tightens when it dries. The top of the opening is lined with fur to protect and silence arrows.
It has an adjustable belt strap – a very rare feature in a sidequiver! This allows you to custom adjust the angle of the quiver to your perfect and ideal position.
Suitable for Right and Left Hand Archers – but note that for Left Hand archers the rear of the belt straps is visible.
