Archery Safety

Archery is one of the safest sports with a reported injury rate of less than one incident per 1,000 participants in 2004. Other activities like golf and fishing have an injury rate of up to 1.5 to 2 times the rate for archery. Sports like soccer, baseball and basketball have injury rates 15 to 25 times higher than archery.

Archery maintains its high safety level through the proper training and certification of archery instructors. When the proper procedures are followed, archery is a very safe activity.

We are First Aid certified and carry a First Aid kit with us at all times. We have nearly complete cell phone coverage and a backup radio should the need for external help arise anywhere on the property.

However some risks remain. Risks are managed by our policies and health & safety processes. With your booking you agree to follow our instructions and safety rules and play your important part in keeping everyone safe.

You accept that some risk remains which includes among other things: slipping, tripping and injuries associated with that, injuries from using bow and arrow (e.g. the common string slap, or the very rare injuries from breaking arrows and/or bows, falling onto your bow or arrows) and the risk of being shot if you or other participants don’t follow our strict procedures.
